I’ve always had a tradition at the beginning of every project that ties the entire vision together: a floral arrangement. Each bouquet I curate is not just a collection of flowers; it’s a living, breathing representation of the project's spirit. It sets the tone, guiding the color palette, mood, and aesthetic for the thousands of choices that follow.
Floral compositions are my "north" — they act as a constant reference from concept to completion. I aim for every home to be unique yet unmistakably cohesive, balanced yet daring, grounded yet expansive!
I like to think of these centerpieces as living, tangible reminders for my clients of where it all began — the spark of inspiration that ignited it all. It’s a piece of art that captures the essence of the collaboration and brings it into the world, allowing us to revisit its energy again and again. The flowers may be the first to bloom, but they are also the last to fade — they remain the through-line, a MKS signature of beauty and intention.
Since we're about to unveil my home very soon, I wanted to share the mood board and arrangement that served as the driving force and reference point for my personal sanctuary. Consider this your first glimpse into my personal process for my family Oregon Countryhouse. I selected an arrangement by one of my favorite florists, Louis-Géraud Castor, incorporating dried sunflowers and a whimsical counterpart to create a conversation between nature and artistry — an expression of my carefully orchestrated, very own visual language.
P.S. Designing for myself? Far more challenging than designing for our incredible clients, but the result is always worth it. This space is a true reflection of who I am, carefully curated with intention and a little *lot bit of soul.
Inspired by my floral ritual and the beauty of nature, I created two botanica-infused moments that, much like the arrangement at the heart of my home, blend the organic with the refined. Each piece is thoughtfully curated to embody the same visual language that defines every MKS project.
I invite you to infuse your own home with a sense of ritual, beauty, and timeless style. Let these floral frameworks serve as an invitation to embrace nature's elegance, weaving it seamlessly into your space.
