DESIGN LOVER'S NYC GUIDE & TREASURE MAP
Where we savored, sipped, sourced, shopped (and Instagrammed immediately after).
Last week, I touched down in one of my favorite cities on Earth for 72 hours of design, dining, and delusional optimism that I’d get more than five hours of sleep a night. Spoiler: I didn’t. But when New York throws you a party, you RSVP "yes"—in vintage heels, with a backup pair of tennies in your tote.
I was beyond honored to be celebrated at the 1stDibs 50 for the second year in a row (hi Nate Berkus, I’m blushing), surrounded by 49 other incredible designers. Between the event, champagne toasts, monumental PR meetings, team brainstorms, client house-hunting, and more oysters than anyone reasonably needs in a week, it was the best kind of whirlwind.
And somewhere between waking up too early and staying out too late, I remembered why this city always pulls me back. It’s definitely not Oregon—though someone at the event did call Oregon “exotic,” and now all I hear is Paris Hilton saying it like it’s a Chanel shade.
After one too many DMs and dinner-table begs for my go-to travel recs, I finally did it—I mapped out what can only be described as my design-lover’s treasure map. A little bit vintage, a little bit vibey, and very much curated over years of wandering, window-shopping, and ordering just one more glass of wine.
Every time I’m in this city, I find something new—a tucked-away café, a hotel lobby that feels like a mood board, or a shop that makes me want to go back to the drawing board in a project. So consider this guide my ever-evolving list of design-focused, tried-and-true gems...with a few fresh obsessions along the way.
